How the IPO timeline works (T+3)

  1. Opens → closes: bidding usually runs for three working days. Approve your UPI mandate by 5 pm on the closing day.
  2. Allotment (T+1): the registrar finalises who gets shares, the day after the issue closes.
  3. Refunds & demat credit (T+2): blocked money is released if you get nothing, and allotted shares reach your demat account.
  4. Listing (T+3): the shares start trading on the exchange.

Only trading days count. Dates after closing are marked "expected" until the shares list; covers issues on NSE (mainboard and SME).

Common questions

4 IPOs are open for bidding: BLS Polymers (closes 29 Oct), SFC Environmental Technologies (closes 29 Oct), M. K. Sons Fine Jewels (closes 30 Oct), Bombay Coated and Special Steels (closes 2 Nov).

Under SEBI's rules, IPOs follow a T+3 timeline, where T is the day the issue closes. The basis of allotment is finalised on T+1, money is unblocked for applications that don't get shares and allotted shares reach demat accounts on T+2, and the shares list on the exchange on T+3. Only trading days count, so weekends and market holidays push the dates out.

Allotment is decided by the IPO's registrar, usually on the day after the issue closes. Open the IPO's page here and use the "Check allotment status" link — it goes to that registrar's own status page, where you can search with your PAN or application number. Your broker app usually shows the status too.

Mainboard IPOs list on the main equity market. SME IPOs are smaller issues by small and medium enterprises that list on the exchange's SME platform; they usually have a larger minimum application, and their shares trade in fixed lots.

Bids made with UPI must have their mandate approved in your UPI app by 5 pm on the day the issue closes. An application whose mandate is not approved in time is not considered.

The exchange confirms the listing date only around the listing itself, so until then we work the dates out from the T+3 rule and the market-holiday calendar. If a bank holiday falls in between, the date can move by a day — the IPO's page says so when that applies. Once the shares list, the actual date replaces the expected one.

Please note

This page updates itself every hour. It shows facts about each issue — dates, price band, lot size and the exchange's official subscription figures — and nothing else: no grey-market prices, no listing-day estimates and no opinion on whether to apply. Read the offer document before you invest; this page is for information only.
