Copy trading with Zerodha
Place an order once and have it copied into every account you link — between Zerodha accounts, or between Zerodha and any of 152 other Indian brokers. Zerodha can be the master you trade in, or a child that receives the copies, each child sized by its own multiplier.
Does MyAlgoMate's copy trading work with Zerodha?
Yes. MyAlgoMate's Copy Trading Software connects to Zerodha through Kite Connect API. A Zerodha account can be the master — the account you trade in — or a child that receives a copy of every order, and it can copy to or from 152 other Indian brokers. Paid Kite Connect for the master only; children use the free API. The software runs on your own Windows PC or cloud server, so your Zerodha logins stay on your machine. MyAlgoMate provides technology only, not investment advice.

Zerodha as the master, Zerodha as a child
Copy trading has two roles. The master is the account you trade in; every child gets a copy of each order.
Master
Trade in Zerodha, copy everywhere
You place orders in your Zerodha account exactly as you do today. The software watches that account and places the same order in each child account — at Zerodha or at any other supported broker.
Zerodha API as master: Zerodha's paid Kite Connect plan — ₹500 a month per API key at the time of writing, billed by Zerodha.
Child
Copy into Zerodha from anywhere
Your master can be at another broker and this Zerodha account follows it, trading the master's quantity times its own multiplier. Nothing is installed for a child account.
Zerodha API as child: Zerodha's free API is enough. A child account does not need the paid Kite Connect plan.
Worth knowing about Zerodha
- The paid Kite Connect plan is needed only when Zerodha is the master. Every Zerodha child account can run on Zerodha's free API.
- Zerodha lets you change a whitelisted static IP only once a calendar week, so check it before you save.
What you need
- A Windows PC, or a Windows cloud machine you rent, that stays on and connected during market hours.
- A MyAlgoMate Copy Trading subscription covering your master and the child accounts you want copying.
- Zerodha API access for each Zerodha account. As the master: Zerodha's paid Kite Connect plan — ₹500 a month per API key at the time of writing, billed by Zerodha. As a child: Zerodha's free API is enough. A child account does not need the paid Kite Connect plan.
- A static IP registered with Zerodha for each Zerodha account — and, for accounts at other brokers, one registered with their broker. No static IP yet? Our Cloud Server for Algo Trading comes with one, and the free static IP checker shows the IP you connect from.
- TOTP turned on for each Zerodha account, with its secret key saved.
Set up copy trading with Zerodha
Six steps, from API keys to the first copied order. No coding at any point.
- Step 1
Get your Zerodha API details
- Sign up at developers.kite.trade and create an app under My Apps, mapped to your Zerodha Client ID, with the Redirect URL https://zerodha.com/.
- Copy the app's API Key and API Secret.
- Whitelist your static IP under Profile → IP Whitelist.
- In Kite, open Password & Security → Enable External TOTP and save the key shown under “Can't scan? Copy the key”.
Do this for every Zerodha account you will use, master and children alike. The full Zerodha setup, field by field →
- Step 2
Install the software and sign in
Install MyAlgoMate's Copy Trading Software on a Windows PC or a Windows cloud machine that stays on during market hours, and sign in with your MyAlgoMate account. Turn on Set time automatically in Windows first: Zerodha logins use a TOTP code worked out from the clock, and a clock that is out by a minute makes them fail.
- Step 3
Add Zerodha as your master or as a child
On the ACCOUNTS screen press Add Master (the account you trade in) or Add Child (an account that receives copies). Choose Zerodha, type an A/C Name you will recognise and enter API Key, API Secret and TOTP key. If this account connects through its own static IP (a proxy), fill in the account's proxy block too.
- Step 4
Run the broker IP check
The check opens by itself when you save the account. It confirms Zerodha accepts orders from this account's IP before the market opens, so you never find out from a rejected order. You can re-run it any time from the account's ⋯ menu.
- Step 5
Set each child's multiplier and segments
Every child account trades the master's quantity times its own multiplier — whole numbers, fractions or decimals, and a different figure per segment if you want. Untick any segment you don't want copied into that account.
- Step 6
Log in all accounts and start copying
Press Login All: the master logs in first, then the children. Press START COPY and trade as you always do — in Zerodha's own app or terminal, or from your own algo. Each order is copied into every child account the moment it appears.
Copy between Zerodha and other brokers
The master and each child can be at different brokers, in any combination.

Zerodha ↔ Groww
Copy Zerodha orders into Groww accounts, or the other way round.

What reaches your Zerodha child accounts

Equity, F&O and commodity orders across eight segments (NSE, NFO, NCO, MCX, CDS, BSE, BFO, BCD), each switchable per account. Not copied: after-market, bracket and cover orders, quantity changes on a waiting order, and anything your master's broker rejects. Copy settings in the user guide →

Copy trading with Zerodha — questions
Yes. MyAlgoMate's Copy Trading Software connects to Zerodha through Kite Connect API. A Zerodha account can be the master — the account you trade in — or a child that receives a copy of every order, and it can copy to or from accounts at any of the other 152 supported brokers.

Yes. Every account that places orders through a broker API — the master and each child — needs a static IP registered with its broker, and orders from an unregistered IP are rejected. At Zerodha: Whitelisted in your Kite Connect developer account under Profile → IP Whitelist (up to two IPs). The software lets you give each account its own proxy, so accounts can connect from different static IPs.
No. You enter each Zerodha account's details once, and the software logs it in for you using the TOTP key. Nobody needs to log in to Zerodha separately.
Yes. The master and every child can be at different brokers. Place an order in your Zerodha master and it is copied into child accounts at Angel One, Upstox, Dhan or any other supported broker — or make Zerodha the child of a master held elsewhere.
Yes. Add one Zerodha account as the master and the others as children. Each child is sized by its own multiplier, and each one needs its own Zerodha API access and its own registered static IP.
API Key, API Secret and TOTP key, plus the account's Client ID. You enter them once, and they are stored on your own machine — never on MyAlgoMate's servers.
Yes. The software watches your master account's order book, so an order placed in Zerodha's app, its website or your own algo is copied the same way. If your own algo also signs in with the same Zerodha API key, ask us on WhatsApp before you start — brokers set their own rules on one API key being used by two programs at once.
The software sends the child orders as soon as the master's order appears. What you actually see also depends on how quickly each broker's API replies and on your internet connection; a cloud machine with a good connection is quicker than a home PC.
