Connecting Samco Securities
MyAlgoMate connects to Samco through Samco's official Trade API. You activate the Trade API from your Samco Star back office, create an app in the Trade API web dashboard to get your API Key and API Secret, register a static IP, and then enter those two keys into the broker login form in MyAlgoMate.

Setting up Samco Securities
Step 1 — Activate the Trade API on your Samco account
Samco's Trade API is free — there are no charges for it, historical data included, so there is no subscription to buy. You only need an active Samco trading account.
- Log in to your Samco account. If you don't have one yet, open a Samco demat account first.
- Go to Samco Star, the online back office, and activate Trade API from there.
Step 2 — Create your app and copy the API Key and Secret
- Open the Trade API web dashboard and sign in.
- Create an app, then copy the two credentials it issues:
- API Key — identifies your app
- API Secret — keep this private; never share it
- Generating the API Secret is protected by an OTP sent to you, so keep your registered mobile or email to hand.
Step 3 — Register your static IP
Samco requires a registered static IP for API trading, in line with the SEBI retail algo-trading rules in force since 1 April 2026. You register and manage your static IPs in the same Trade API web dashboard, and that too is OTP-protected.
- In the Trade API dashboard, open the static-IP section and register your IP.
- Which IP to use: if you run MyAlgoMate on your own machine, use your ISP's static IP; if you run it on a cloud machine, use that cloud server's static IP.

Step 4 — Enter the details in MyAlgoMate
- Open the broker login form in MyAlgoMate and enter your API Key and API Secret, then save.
What you need to collect
Samco needs just two details in the broker login form in MyAlgoMate:
- API Key — from the app you create in the Samco Trade API web dashboard
- API Secret — issued with it, behind an OTP check; keep it private
Two more things are done on Samco's side rather than entered here: activating Trade API from Samco Star, and registering your static IP in the Trade API dashboard.
The Samco Trade API is free
Samco does not charge for the Trade API — there are no API charges at all, and historical data is included, so there is no subscription to buy and nothing to renew. You only need an active Samco trading account. (Samco's own brokerage charges for the trades you place are separate.)
Activate Trade API from Samco Star first
This is the step people miss. Your API Key and Secret are created in the Trade API web dashboard, but the Trade API itself has to be activated on your account first, from Samco Star — Samco's online back office. If the dashboard won't let you create an app, check that Trade API is activated on your account.
OTP checks on keys and IPs
Samco protects the sensitive actions in the Trade API dashboard with a one-time password: generating your API Secret and registering or changing your static IP both send you an OTP. Keep your registered mobile or email to hand when you set things up, and note that this OTP is only part of the dashboard — it is not something you enter into MyAlgoMate.
No Redirect URL needed
If you have connected other brokers before, you may be looking for a Redirect URL or callback field. Samco's Trade API does not use one — the connection is made with your API Key and API Secret, so there is nothing of that kind to configure here.
Static IP — required by Samco
Under the SEBI retail algo-trading rules in force since 1 April 2026, API trading requires a registered static IP. Samco lets you register and manage your static IPs in the Trade API web dashboard, protected by an OTP. Use your ISP's static IP if you run MyAlgoMate on your own machine, or your cloud machine's static IP if you run it on a server.

Keep your credentials private
Your API Secret is the key to your own trading account — never share it with anyone. MyAlgoMate provides the automation technology; you set the rules and stay in control of your own trades.

What Samco details does MyAlgoMate need?

Where do I get my Samco API Key and Secret?
First activate Trade API from Samco Star, your Samco online back office. Then sign in to the Trade API web dashboard at tradeapi.samco.in, create an app, and copy the API Key and API Secret. Generating the secret is protected by an OTP, so keep your registered mobile or email to hand.
Why can't I create an app in the Samco Trade API dashboard?
Usually because Trade API has not been activated on your account yet. It is activated from Samco Star, the online back office — do that first, then return to the Trade API dashboard to create your app and generate the keys.
Does Samco need a Redirect URL?
No. Unlike some other brokers, Samco's Trade API does not use a Redirect URL or callback field — the connection uses your API Key and API Secret. If you are looking for that field, you can safely ignore it for this broker.
