Connecting Fyers
MyAlgoMate connects to Fyers through Fyers' official Trading API. You create your own app in the Fyers API dashboard, enable External 2FA (TOTP) on your Fyers account, whitelist a static IP as Fyers requires, and then enter your App ID, Secret ID, Fyers ID, PIN and TOTP key into the broker login form in MyAlgoMate.

Setting up Fyers
Step 1 — Create your app in the Fyers API dashboard
The Fyers Trading API is free — Fyers does not charge any subscription or fee for API access, and historical data, quotes and market data are included at no cost. You only need an active Fyers trading account.
- Go to myapi.fyers.in/dashboard and sign in with your Fyers account.
- Click Create App and fill in the app details:
- App Name — e.g. MyAlgoMate
- Redirect URL — set it to https://myapi.fyers.in/
- App Permissions — grant the permissions the app needs
- Description and logo — optional, you can leave these blank
- Your App ID and Secret ID are shown in the API dashboard as soon as the app is created — copy both. The App ID looks like
ABCD1234XY-100.
Step 2 — Enable TOTP and copy your TOTP key
- Go to myaccount.fyers.in/ManageAccount.
- Find External 2FA (TOTP) and click Enable.
- ⚠️ Copy the secret key shown while you are enabling TOTP — this is the TOTP key MyAlgoMate needs, and it is only shown during setup. If you miss it, disable TOTP and enable it again to generate a fresh key.
- Scan the QR code into an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc.), which then generates a fresh 6-digit code every 30 seconds.
Step 3 — Register your static IP (mandatory)
Fyers requires a registered static IP for placing orders through the API (SEBI retail algo-trading rules, in force since 1 April 2026). Orders are only accepted from an App ID that is mapped to a whitelisted static IP address.
- Whitelist your static IP against your App ID in the Fyers API dashboard.
- Which IP to use: if you run MyAlgoMate on your own machine, use your ISP's static IP; if you run it on a cloud machine, use that cloud server's static IP.

Step 4 — Enter the details in MyAlgoMate
- Open the broker login form in MyAlgoMate and enter your App ID, Secret ID, Fyers ID, PIN and TOTP key, then save.
What you need to collect
To connect Fyers, the broker login form in MyAlgoMate needs five details:
- App ID — from the app you created in the Fyers API dashboard
- Secret ID — from the same app
- Fyers ID — your own Fyers login id, the one you sign in to Fyers with
- PIN — your Fyers trading PIN
- TOTP key — the secret key you copied when enabling External 2FA (TOTP)
One more thing is set on Fyers' side rather than entered here: you must whitelist a static IP against your App ID.
App ID and Fyers ID are not the same thing
These two are easy to mix up, and mixing them up is the most common reason a Fyers connection fails. Your App ID identifies the API app you created in the Fyers API dashboard and looks like ABCD1234XY-100. Your Fyers ID is your own account login id — the one you use to sign in to Fyers. MyAlgoMate needs both, in their own fields.
The Fyers Trading API is free
Fyers does not charge for its Trading API — there is no subscription to buy and nothing to renew, and historical data, quotes and market data are included at no cost. You only need an active Fyers trading account. (Fyers' own brokerage charges for your trades are separate and unchanged.)
Static IP — required by Fyers
Since 1 April 2026, SEBI's retail algo-trading rules require a registered static IP for API order placement — Fyers only accepts orders from an App ID that is mapped to a whitelisted static IP address. Whitelist the IP against your App ID in the Fyers API dashboard. Use your ISP's static IP if you run MyAlgoMate locally, or your cloud machine's static IP if you run it on a server.

When you create the app, set the Redirect URL to https://myapi.fyers.in/
Keep your keys private
Your Secret ID, PIN and TOTP key are the keys to your own trading account — never share them with anyone. MyAlgoMate provides the automation technology; you set the rules and stay in control of your own trades.

Do I need to pay for the Fyers API?
No. Fyers' Trading API is free — there are no subscription or usage fees, and historical data, quotes and market data are included at no cost. You only need an active Fyers trading account.
What Fyers details does MyAlgoMate need?
Five: your App ID and Secret ID from the app you create in the Fyers API dashboard, your Fyers ID, your PIN, and your TOTP key. You enter all five in the broker login form in MyAlgoMate. Separately, you must whitelist a static IP against your App ID on Fyers' side.
What is the difference between my App ID and my Fyers ID?
Your App ID identifies the API app you created in the Fyers API dashboard and looks like ABCD1234XY-100. Your Fyers ID is your own account login id — the one you sign in to Fyers with. They are different values and go in different fields in MyAlgoMate; mixing them up is the most common reason a Fyers connection fails.
